SKINCARE ROUTINE 🧖.

Everyone's skincare routine is a little different depending on their skin type and needs, but there are some basic steps that are common to most routines. Healthy skin doesn’t happen overnight. A consistent skin care routine is essential to optimize your skin’s health, fortify its defenses and maximize your results.
1.Cleanse. Twice per day, morning and night. Cleansing your face is an important step in any skincare routine. It helps to remove dirt,oil, and makeup from your skin, which can prevent clogged pores and acne. There are many different ways to cleanse your face, but the basic steps are to wet your face with warm water, apply a cleanser to a clean cotton wool and massage it onto your face, and then rinse with cool water and pat your face dry with a towel. It's important to choose a gentle cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils. Whether you choose an oil, balm, gel or cream cleanser will depend on your skin type and the conditions you hope to address. 2. Tone: Twice per day, morning and night. Toners help to restore the skin's pH balance and prep the skin for the next steps in your routine. It completes the cleansing process by conditioning your skin and adding beneficial vitamins and minerals to your complexion. To apply toner, you should use a cotton wool to gently swipe the toner over your face and neck. Be sure to avoid getting the toner in your eyes. Allow the toner to dry before applying any other products. There are many different types of toners available, so it's important to choose one that's right for your skin type. Unlike alcohol-based toners of the past, today’s toners, essences and facial mists support the effectiveness of your cleanser by adding replenishing ingredients that support your skin’s health. Cleansing and toning work together like shampoo and conditioner: Both steps help keep the skin as healthy as possible. 3. Exfoliate Once or twice per week. Exfoliating is an important part of any skincare routine because it helps to remove dead skin cells, which can make your skin look dull and cause clogged pores. Exfoliating is essential to encourage healthy skin cell turnover, eliminate buildup and relieve pore congestion. To exfoliate your face, start by dampening your skin with warm water. Then, apply a gentle exfoliant to your skin using circular motions. Rinse the exfoliant off with cool water and pat your skin dry. It's important to only exfoliate once or twice per week, as over-exfoliating can damage your skin. 4. Mask Once or twice per week. Facial masks are a great way to give your skin an extra boost of hydration, nourishment, and radiance. Masks come in many different formulas, including clay, sheet, gel, and cream. They can help to control specific skin conditions such as dryness, dullness,large pores, dark spots and acne. Face masks contain high amounts of concentrated vitamins and nutrient-rich ingredients which absorb efficiently into the skin, making it appear healthy and resilient. Masks should be applied to clean, dry skin and left on for the recommended amount of time before being rinsed off. 5. Treat with Serum or Facial Oil Twice per day, morning and night. Facial serums and oils are great for adding an extra layer of nourishment to your skin. Serums are typically lightweight and are applied before moisturizer. They contain active ingredients that help to target specific skin conditions, such as fine lines, dark spots, and acne. ‎ Oils are applied after moisturizer and help to seal in moisture and provide intense hydration. Both serums and oils should be chosen based on your skin type and concerns. These potent formulas contain concentrated amounts of active ingredients to target concerns and neutralize the effects of environmental stressors. The serum or oil you choose will depend on the particular concerns and conditions you hope to prevent or correct. 6. Moisturize Twice per day, morning and night. Moisturizer is an essential part of any skincare routine, as it helps to keep skin soft, hydrate and protect the skin. There are many different types of moisturizers available, including lotions, creams, and gels. When choosing a moisturizer, it's important to consider your skin type and any specific concerns you may have. For example, if you have dry skin, you'll want to choose a moisturizer that's rich and hydrating. Remember, even oily skin needs moisture and hydration! 7. Eye Care Twice per day, morning and night. Eye care is often overlooked, but it's an important part of any skincare routine. The skin around the eyes is delicate as it is seven times thinner than the rest of the face and prone to dryness, fine lines, and dark circles. Regular eye cream application not only maintains the health, thickness and elasticity of this delicate area, it also reduces the look of fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. When applying eye cream, it's important to use a light touch and avoid tugging or pulling on the skin. 8. SPF(sun protection factor)/ Sunscreen. Daily, or as required. The final and most crucial step in every skin care routine is sun protection. Sunscreen helps to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun's UV rays, including sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer. It's important to choose a sunscreen that's broad-spectrum, which means it protects against both UVA and UVB rays. It's also important to apply sunscreen every day, even when it's cloudy or you're indoors. 9. Body Care Daily, or as required. Taking care of your body is just as important as taking care of your face. The rest of your body can also display areas of discomfort depending on your skin type and skin concerns. Extend your skin care routine by applying nutrient-rich body products that keep your skin looking strong and youthful from head-to-toe.  First, make sure to exfoliate regularly to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin smooth. You should also moisturize your body daily, paying special attention to areas like your elbows, knees, and heels. Also, make sure to drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.
